Field rules

Know the field before you fly it

Every member agrees to these. They keep the circuit predictable, the neighbours on side, and the landing area clear.

The circuit is an example only. Its side changes with the wind, so follow the briefing on the day.

AIR In the circuit

  • Give other pilots room on approach, and use a left-hand approach when you can.
  • Don't descend inside the circuit while it's active. Lose height above the field, but leave it at a height that keeps you clear of gliders already in the circuit.
  • Fly a structured approach where possible, so other pilots and instructors on the ground can read your intentions.
  • Keep vertical and horizontal separation that suits the conditions and your aircraft, and stay aware of what's around you.

NBR Neighbours

  • Don't fly low over neighbouring properties, and never do manoeuvres over them.
  • Only practise acro over the forestry block, or somewhere a reserve deployment won't bring you down near buildings or neighbours.
  • Launch only from places and in conditions that suit your skill level, where you won't need to land on a neighbour's property.

GND On the ground

  • Secure loose items before launch so nothing can fall from your glider.
  • Clear the landing area straight after you land, and don't ground handle where people are landing.

STU Students

  • Follow your instructor's directions in flight. They can direct any NZHGPA PG1 or PG2 manoeuvre anywhere within GAA755 to keep you safe.
  • Follow your instructor's directions when ground handling, to keep hazards out of the landing area.

The fine print

Passes, refunds and privacy

Passes and refunds

  • Your pass starts on the date you choose, or on the day you pay if you don't pick one.
  • Passes can't be refunded once they've started.
  • Pre-booked a pass and your plans changed? Email us before the start date and we'll move it or refund it.
  • Payments are in NZ dollars and go through Stripe. You'll get a receipt by email.
  • Nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Privacy

  • We collect your name, email, phone and NZHGPA PIN to run memberships and contact you about the field.
  • The member list on this page shows your name, member number, NZHGPA PIN, pass type, company (if any) and pass dates, so pilots and operators can check who's current.
  • Stripe handles card payments. We never see or store your card details.
  • To see, correct or remove your details, email membership@flightpark.co.nz. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
