Terms & conditions

  • I will always be mindful of other pilots and take care to give other pilots room on approach.
  • I will use a left hand approach when practicable.
  • Pilots should avoid descending inside the circuit when the circuit is active. Height may be lost above the field, but the Pilot In Command must ensure to exit at an appropriate height to avoid conflict with gliders already in the circuit.
  • Having a more structured landing approach is desirable when possible. It allows other traffic (and instructors on the ground) to anticipate your intentions.
  • Pilots must maintain appropriate vertical and horizontal separation for the conditions (and aircraft type) in order to mitigate the risk of collision.
  • Pilots must maintain situational awareness at all times.
  • I will be mindful of neighboring properties, not flying low over them and never perform any maneuvers over them.
  • I will always secure loose items before launch and make sure nothing can fall from my glider.
  • I will only practice and train acro maneuvers over the forestry block or in a place where a reserve deployment will not result in landing near any building or neighboring properties.
  • I will take all practicable care to only launch from a location and in weather conditions safe for my skill level and where landing on a neighboring property can reasonably be expected to not be necessary.
  • I will always clear the landing area straight after landing and not practice ground handling or other activities in a place likely to interfere with people landing.
  • ALL STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTION OF THEIR INSTRUCTOR WHILE IN FLIGHT. THE INSTRUCTOR CAN DIRECT YOU IN ANY NZHGPA PG1 OR PG2 MANEUVRE IN ANY LOCATION WITHIN GAA755 TO KEEP YOU SAFE WHILE FLYING.
  • ALL STUDENTS MUST ABIDE BY THE INSTRUCTORS DIRECTION WHILE GROUND HANDLING TO MINIMISE ANY HAZARD WITHIN THE LANDING AREA
